1 Year Blog Anniversary!! Giveaways Below

I cannot believe it's been one year since I started my paper crafting blog. The Christmas before my mom had gotten me a Cricut Expression machine (thanks mom!) and through the internet I stumbled upon the wide wide world of crafting blogs. I was so inspired by countless people and their creations, tutorials, techniques, and haul videos (for sure) that I started my very own blog. I had pretty high hopes and expectations for myself and this blog. It kept me crafting a lot in the beginning, but I soon realized that my goal of posting every other day was an enormous challenge. So then I lowered my goal to posting at least once a week. I exceed that goal most every week, so that makes me feel good!!

As a blog-iversary gift to all my loyal followers, and to those that stop in from time to time, I am having two giveaways!!

The first prize is the Cricut Cartridge "Wild Card". This was the very first cartridge I bought. I love how easy it is to use to crank out an insta-card. And the matching envelopes are the best.

The second prize is 2 different 6x6 paper pads from my very favorite online shopping Pumpkin Spice. And you get to pick the pads yourself! Whichever two fit your fancy. There are a LOT to choose from. Click here to see all the options.

To win either of these prizes, just leave a comment below telling me your favorite thing about the wide wide world of craft blogs. I love to read comments like that. I will be picking two winners on June 7th (that gives you one week to tell all your friends to stop by for a chance to win) and announcing them here. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for making my first year as a paper crafting blogger so memorable. I "met" a lot of really sweet and kind people. You all continue to inspire me every day!

Make It Monday #68 : Pocket Card

I've been in a super crafty mood lately, but with all the kiddos home now and school done it's been a challenge to sneak downstairs for some me time.

Here's my take on the PTI MIM challenge. To see the video tutorial about how to create a pocket card click here.

I made a large pocket in the back and a smaller pocket in the front of the card. Just in case you would have multiple messages to write!

I love combining stamps from different stamp sets. But afterwards my desk looks like a total disaster. I try to keep track of the supplies I used, but I lost the sheet I wrote it down on somewhere in the mess and gave up trying to retrace my steps. Oh well.

Flowered Lantern with Card

My son had his last day of preschool this week. I couldn't believe my first born is old enough to be a kindergartener next year. Wow! So we had a wonderful preschool picnic in the park as a final hooray.

I made this flowered lantern and card for his teachers. I bought the white lantern at Target. The inside crystals and pearls were a string of garland I had since my wedding. (Ages ago!!). I hot glued strings of the garland inside the lantern for decoration. I made some flowers using the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and hot glued those to the top. The ribbon is from my stash.

The stamps, ink and die are from Papertrey Ink.

I cut and hot glued some more of the pearl garland on top.

Make it Monday #66

This is my interpretation of the Make it Monday #66 challenge : Felt Flowers from Border Dies.

I used the small scallop border die with some dark chocolate felt. I cut three strips of felt measuring 1/2 inch by the width of the felt. Then I rolled them all together to make one giant flower. Or in this case the center of a flower. I stamped the sunflower from Rosie Posie onto some Rustic Cream cardstock using yellow ink. Then I colored the center of each petal with two yellow toned Copic markers to add some depth. I used the Flower Fusion #9 die and cut out some Harvet Gold cardstock and layered that over the sunflower stamp. The stem is from Rosie Posie and stamped in Simply Chartreuse. The "Happy Birthday" is from the Inside & Out : Birthday stamp set.

Have a great week! Come back tomorrow to see my post for the Pumpkin Spice Blog. It's oh so "chic".

I created 3 cards using the MPS kit.  I cut out all the animals using the Cricut cartridge "Give a Hoot". Aren't they adorable. I thought the whimsical stamps would match these cute little woodland creatures.

The owl was cut at 3 1/2 inches.
All the solid colored cardstock is included in the kit too.

Rabbits were cut at 3 1/4 inches.
Don't they look like the best of bunnies in their bling hats!

The fox was cut at 4 inches.
Such a fancy cupcake for such a fancy fox.

Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I was raised by the most incredible mother! She was a troop leader, OM coach, and amazing stay at home mom. She was always there for us, teaching us life skills. I am a better mom today because of her. And of course, she instilled the love of crafting in me. Thanks mom!!

I was driving to my Mother's Day celebration today and realized I didn't take a picture of my cards. So I resorted to my iPhone for a quick pic.

Everything you see here you can purchase at Papertrey Ink!

I made a variety of these cards in different colors. All with the Rosie Posie stamp set and Frame Out #2. The phrase inside is a combo of different smaller sentiments from who knows what stamp set from PTI.

Thank you to all the moms in my life. You are all an inspiration to me everyday.

May SPS Blog Hop : Folded Wallet Picture Holder

Welcome everyone to the May Pumpkin Spice Blog Hop. Be sure to hop to the SPS Blog and read all the challenge rules and enter to win a $20 gift certificate to the store.

When I heard we were doing a project my mind started turning and turning. I wanted to make something for a mom for Mother's Day. And what better project then a folded wallet picture holder. A what? you ask. A place for a mom to hold some wallet sized pictures of her favorite kiddos of course.

I did a picture tutorial so if you wanted to make something similar you have the dimensions and instructions.

 1. Take a 12x12 piece of cardstock and cut it to be 8x12.
2. Score the 8" side at 4".
3. Turn the cardstock and score the 12" side at 3", 6", and 9".

4. Fold the cardstock lengthwise with the right side on the outside. Open up.
5. Place a die cut on the inside facing down. Make sure the die cut is in the center of the score lines.
(Tip: I use a tiny piece of tape to hold the die cut in place)
6. Fold lengthwise again.

7. Sandwich inside your favorite die cut machine and run through.

8. Move the die cut to the next area. Keep within the score lines and make sure the die cut is facing down.

Here is the panel with four cuts out. Each score line section measures 3x4.

9. Run 1/4" score tape along all the score lines and the edges.
Do not put score tape along the top.

10. Fold over and seal all the sides together.
The top is open to slide a wallet size photo inside.
Now just decorate to your hearts delight!

Here is a picture of the inside of my "Folded Wallet Picture Holder".

A close up of my favorite little 5 year old.

All folded up. I used some twine and brads as a closer on the side.

This is the back all decorated up.
