"Die Cuttin Diva's" Guest Designer

Today I'm the guest designer over at the Die Cuttin Diva's weekly challenge blog. Every week they have an amazing challenge where you create a card/project according to the guidelines and use a die cutting tool/cartridge/cut. So easy and so fun! And there are prizes to win too!

This week's challenge is "use white and pick either: pink, red, or purple".

If you know anything about me or my designs, you know I always gravitate towards things that are pink. Hehe. My wedding was pink pink pink, my blog is pink pink pink, and my daughters favorite color is pink pink pink. So I got to work right away gathering together some beautiful pink paper and getting inspired. I wanted to make a love card because it's so close to Valentine's Day. This is what I created.

The card originally measured 6.5x5. But I trimmed half an inch off the height and width because I wanted my die cut embellishments to hang over the edges.

This cut is from "Lacy Labels". I cut it at 3.25.
It has lots of layers which I popped up with dimensional tape.
I thought the sentiment was perfect for this card.

I love making these layer butterfly elements.
I cut 3 different butterflies from the Cricut cartridges "Florals Embellished", "Tie the Knot" and "Paper Lace" in a variety of sizes.
Then I layered them together and fastened them with a brad.
Bending the wings forward gives such wonderful dimension.

Thanks so much to the Die Cuttin Diva's for having me as a guest designer. Your blog is so fun and full of amazing inspiration.

I hope you are inspired to create your own card/project for this challenge.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day everyone!

Sweet Treat Mailboxes

Everyone has love in mind as Valentine's Day approaches. I adore this time of year for so many reasons. One being that pink is my favorite color. And I can create all pink all the time with no worries!!

Today I made two sweet treat mailboxes from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge. I cut both out at 8 inches.

I first envisioned these mailboxes on my mantel as home decor.

But alas, my two older kiddos got a hold of them and have been playing
"candy mailman" ever since.

How fun is that? And so appropriate for Valentine's Day too.

Blue and White Circle Card

Hello friends. I've been gone for a spell but no worries. My kiddos were all sick :( But they are on the mend, which means momma can have some crafty time!

I created this circle card for the following challenges:
1. Pumpkin Spice Blog : create something blue and white with an element in the round
and
2. Mojo Monday: round card sketch

Supplies:

All Is Bright: 6x6 Paper Pad
MME "All is Bright" 6x6 paper pad
ON SALE
found here for $3.35

Bee Mine - Paper Smooches Stamp Set
Paper Smooches "Bee Mine" stamp set
found here for $14.99

I used my Cricut to create the card base and a metal die to cut the ivory doily. The edge detail is a Martha Stewart punch.

I was going to make a second card with the scraps from the first, but instead I created this sweet wine glass tag. I'm pretty sure I saw something similar on Pinterest. You can make several for a party and either make them all different so your guest know which glass is theirs, or you can leave a space to write your guests' names.

The large base circle measures 3" and I used a 3/4" punch for the wine glass stem. A simple snip with my scissors into the center circle made it possible to slide the tag on.

Such a cute little set!
