PTI Challenge and MIM

Hey everyone. Hope you're having a super great week.

I made a card to enter in both the Make It Monday #88 challenge "Positive and Negative Die Cuts". Click here to see this great technique video by Erin Lincoln.

The October blog hop challenge was to create a project using a non-traditional holiday color scheme. There are some amazing color schemes that I'm gonna have to save and put in my pocket for later. Click here to read about the challenge and check out the color schemes.

I chose the following color scheme:
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef017c3286c9b2970b-pi

This is my take on both the MIM challenge and the blog hop challenges combined.

The side view is showing that I did the negative die cut technique twice. I'm really loving this technique. So easy, but gives a lot of depth to a project.

"This and That" Anniversary Box

Happy Monday everyone. Today is my turn to post on the Pumpkin Spice Blog.

This weekend my family and I celebrated my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary. My grandparents are just the cutest couple. They laugh together, and travel, and just love each other so much. What an amazing example they have set for our family. As a gift, everyone in the family participated in a "mail call", writing letters and cards for them. I created this box to hold all the letters in.

I bought a plain black scrapbook box from my local hobby store. I painted the top with white acrylic paint. When that was dry, I applied a thin layer of Modge Podge and laid down some paper. After layering more paper and the title, I applied a final layer of Modge Podge to seal everything in. The flowers and embellishments on top were glued on with hot glue.

SPS October Blog Hop

Hello hoppers.

This month our Pumpkin Spice Blog hop theme is Halloween! With the leaves turning colors and the weather cooling down, I really am getting into the Halloween mood.

I created three mini cards that fit inside a fry box card holder. I plan on giving these cards to my niece and nephews for Trick or Treat. Of course the fry boxes will be full of candy too.

Little monster cards peeking out from their boxes.

 Where did they go?

Oh there they are. Such cute little mini cards.

Oh great, now they're showing us their insides. Yuck!
