"Our Farm Tales" Board Book

Hello everyone! It's my turn to post over at the Pumpkin Spice Blog.

I have such a fun project to share with you today!

If your kids are anything like mine, the moment you start crafting, they want to be a part of the project your making. "Mommy can I help?" "Mommy can I use that paper too?" "Mommy can I sit on your lap?". It's so sweet, but sometimes when mom is in a hurry, I have to get them started on their own project. So when I got some Bo Bunny 6x6 board books in the mail, I knew I wanted to create a book with my kids! They were thrilled with the idea too.

I started by cutting out some white computer paper into 4x4 squares. With my kids advice, I stamped some fun farm scenes using the Penny Black stamps "Mimi's Farm". I assembled each page with some paper and a journaling tag. Then I had my kids "tell me the story" for each page. It was hilarious what the kids came up with!! Now we have a fun book to read that we made together.

With a black pen I added some detailing to each scene.
Then I wrote their "tales" onto the journaling tag.

And I colored each picture with some colored pencils.
The initials on each tag is the kid who "wrote" the tale.

The pig page was written by my daughter.
"Piggly Squiggs squiggles her tail so hard she rolls over & over. She likes her home. Riding home."
My son asked what the box was below the fence in the chicken picture. I told him it was a water trough. He thought otherwise.
"The chicken likes to jump on the trampoline. The sheep came to jump too."

"Buck the Duck is walking around with no such thing. The chicks are following behind. The rooster says 'Duck-a-doodle-doo'!"

"Purple Milk Cow is picking grass. She likes to stare at people."
"These sheep kept jumping over the fence until every one of them poked their feet.'

"Blast Off" Mini Album

Happy Monday to you all. I hope those of you who are mommies had a wonderful stress-free Mother's Day yesterday. I did! No cooking or cleaning for this mommy.

Today I am sharing a mini album I created using the Bo Bunny "Blast Off" 6x6 paper pad. It's an oldie, but a goodie. I was so inspired by all the photo frame cards, from the NSD blog hop, that I created this photo frame mini album.

Here's a quick video showing this album all put together.

FCCB Challenge #72 : Let's Get Buggy

Today over at Fantabulous Cricut it's Challenge Me Monday. This weeks challenge is "Let's Get Buggy" - use a bug on your project.

I cut out this card base from A Child's Year Cricut cartridge. I layered a gem cut from Once Upon a Princess in the card to make it a window cut with my Gypsy.

I cut the dragonfly image from Gypsy Wanderings in the shadow feature and twice in the base feature. I cut out the dragonfly border too.

Here you can see by cutting out the dragonfly twice I have layered it to give a lot of dimension. I also layered a gem from Once Upon a Princess to frame the window.

I used the negative part of the dragonfly border to make these stencil images. I stenciled with Distress Ink to give this plain cardstock a pattern.

Inside the card I created another stencil with the gem frame. I laid the frame around the dragonfly gem and inked with more Distress Ink. When you remove the frame you get this cool shadow effect.

The paper is from the Bo Bunny Vicki B. collection. I got this 6x6 paper pad from Pumpkin Spice. It's the best online store! They sell top name brand paper and supplies at amazing prices.

This paper pad is only $4.19!!

Now head on over to Fantabulous Cricut and check out the other Design Team member's creations. They are just awesome! Then create your own bug project and link it to FCCB.
