January Pumpkin Spice Blog Hop

Welcome hoppers. I'm the first stop for the Shop Pumpkin Spice Blog January blog hop! (Click here to start at the beginning of the hop so you can get all the info). We've started a new term and increased our Design Team members. I can't wait for you to meet them - they make beautiful things.

This month's blog hop theme is "Your Style". While hopping around you'll get to see the designers styles and tastes. It's a great way to see all the different varieties of paper crafting gals we've got.

I would say my style is a simple compilation of the 3 Cs: I have a classic style, I love being creative with my paper crafts, and I almost always use my Cricut!!

For this hop I created a "Stand Alone Photo Frame Book"! I was inspired by my new Cinch (thanks sis!) and the beautiful paper of Jillibean Soup. This book closes up with Velcro so it's easy to transport. Then it folds open to stand up on it's own. Each page is a photo frame with a seasonal theme. I was amazed that the combination of 3 of the Jillibean Soup 6x6 paper pads could create all four seasons. Check it out!

This is the front cover all folded up. The papers across are scraps from all the paper inside.

You open the Velcro flap...

...and flip the front cover around. The short flap becomes the base of the stand.

Ta da! The book stands on it's own.

Spring photo frame.

Summer photo frame.

Fall photo frame.

The frames fit a 4x6 photo. Here are my kiddos Trick or Treating.

Winter photo frame.
I was thinking of giving this as a gift but now that it's done, I need it for myself as a brag book. Hehe.

FCCB Challenge #76 : Back to School

If you are looking for the September Pumpkin Spice Blog Hop click here.

The challenge today over at Fantabulous Cricut is Back to School : use your ABC's (Letters) or 123's (numbers) on your project. How cute is this challenge!

I used a tag shape from the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge and welded it together with my Gypsy. That is the shape of the card.

I cut the alphabet border from Graphically Speaking too. I cut it to fit the tag shape card on my Gypsy. Even though it cut an intricate shape at a small size, my Cricut cut it really well. That's cause I used really good quality paper found at Shop Pumpkin Spice.

Supplies:
Cricut Cartridges : Graphically Speaking and Doodlecharms
Paper : Jillibean Soup Watermelon Gazpacho 6x6 Paper Pad, plain red/orange cardstock from stash
Twine : MME Lime Twist : Fly a Kit "Spring" twine
Black chalk ink
Tim Holtz distresser

Found here at Shop Pumpkin Spice for $4.19!

Found here at Shop Pumpkin Spice for $2.09!

Thanks for stopping by to see my FCCB creation. I hope you are inspired by all the designs you see. Then make your own "Back to School" project and link it to Fantabulous Cricut.

Genre-Themed Book Marks

Hey all! I can't believe it is mid-August already. How does the summer fly by so fast, but the winter drags on and on? Oh well. I am headed out this morning with the kiddos for some swimming with friends. I love you sunny weather!

I created these genre-themed book marks as a PRIZE for our family challenge blog. My sister created this blog a month ago to create fun-filled family competition. It's a challenge blog of course! My sister has posted some really great challenges and will be posting more. We're all having so much fun at the Gross Family Challenge Blog.

I used A LOT of different Cricut carts on this project. That's why I love my Gypsy! I have access to all these awesome carts at the touch of my stylus. I kept the genres simple: Historical, Mystery, Romance, Humor, Political, and Travel.

I used all paper scraps from my stash. I love reusing tiny pieces of paper that otherwise would be thrown away. My detailing includes: Distress Ink, Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents, Stickles, and black/white pen.

Good luck to my family! Winning these bookmarks would be super sweet!
